We had our reunion with the maternal grandparent on the 3 Feb 08(Sun). Steamboat at home with some home cook food, not forgetting the all times favourite –> Ngoh Hiong. This year I have a more peaceful meal as Hayden is pretty well behave at the dinner table and Suzanne is just satify looking at us from her rocky chair…:) Only thing is Hayden was sick for that new year week so he didnt appear to be as lively as before and most of the time.
Sis helping Mom to prepare the Ngoh hiong.
Hayden with En JieJie before the dinner starts.
Reunion dinner with the paternal grandparents were at home too. It was pretty rush as brother & sister in law are rushing through the dinner to get to the other side of the family by 6pm. So we rush thru the 1 hours and then head home. No pic taken on that day though…
1st Day
Her first ang-bao from my & hubby.
Suzanne with her ang-bao from maternal grandparents
For the past year, we usually will visit the temple on the 1st day of new year before going for house visiting. But we skip it for this year, mainly due to the inconvenience of bring an infant to gather with the crowd. We take things rather slow this year… sleep in, change and just visit grandparent from both side. Suzanne was so sweet with her pink dress and Hayden insist to put on an OLD T-shirt out. No picture of Hayden on that day too, he is a bit cranky and difficult when he is sick, just like a baby….:)
2nd day
I had a very bad throat the night before and tot of visiting a doctor but on a second thoughts, I decided to take Strepsils instead. Bought 2 boxes from Guardians. Stay at home today and in-law pop in for a visit. Other than that, we have a lazy day taking nap and having another round of steamboat at home.
My throat didnt get better and in fact it hurt so much that I had to drop in a 24 hours clinic on 3rd day of NY at 10pm. Cost me $60 for a pax of antibotics!
School is requesting for a family photo from Hayden as they are touching on “My Family” as a topic in the month of February. We didnt take any family photo lately except for one during Suzanne’s baby shower but I was too “bloated” then so we took the above on a rush morning before we head for work. Suzanne is such a doll, she never move during the shooting ..haha, so not hard to guess who is the difficult one!!! and as above show, Hayden is seeing no evil in the pic! Maid took a few for us but all appear to be either blur or Hayden not looking at the camera. Above is the sharpest but boy is playing peek-a-boo… ;p
These days she is “talking” whole day long and when you place her on her bumper mat, the next minute you can find her in a new position… so cute! It’s tummy time…:)
My maternity leave had officially ended and I have started work since last monday.
To me, these 3 months seem to have pass by so fast but not to those who had been working all these while. I used to see Ocean Building right at my workstation(from Republic Plaza) but this view is no longer exist! Some work had been done to tear down the building and it is almost done already. All I can see now is the raising of the Integrated Resort! Wonder if I will still be seating at the same seat by the time IR had completed…:)
Anyway, it is great to be back and also to start the new year with new job scope.
The only downside is there is so little time for the kids. For the whole week, I dozed off together with Suzanne at around 8pm and only wake up at 11pm to give her the last feed. Some day I didn’t even have a chance to talk to Hayden …:( Hope this tireness is due to the long stop in working and soon it will all gone back to normal.
Suzanne went for her 3rd month jab together with her development assessment yesterday at the Singapore Baby & Child Clinic at Thomson Medical Center. We have followed the clinic recommendation to go for 5-in-1, together with Pneumococcal & Rotavirus(oral) jab. Poor Suzanne suffered needle bites on both tights…:(
Suzanne now weighed 5.38kg(50 percentile), length 61cm(75 percentile) & Head circumference 39.1cm at 3 months old. She is consider as an average baby, neither big nor small.
I was pretty concern over her milk intake as she consume on average about 650ml per day. To me this is very little but clinic advise that this amount is actually fine for her weight. There is a calculation that goes like each kg should consume 100-150ml of milk, so for Suzanne her intake should be within 538-807ml.
Her development assessment goes on fine too, with a PASS for all test.
I used to buy lots of story books for Hayden and hope that he can cultivate an interest for reading. Of cos like other parents, it started out first as bedtime stories and at that time it is in my plan to read to him whenever I have the time. However, he is not really interested in listening. Before I can finish up with the first sentence, he started to flip the book and never give me a chance to continue with the story. After few(quite a lot) attemps, I gave up… thinking that he may not be ready yet. All these story book was first stack nicely on the shelf, but over time, he take the book one by one and place it everywhere and today, I have a problem in finding all those books that was prepared for him.
Just tonight when he was watching his favourite Hi-5 before his bedtimes, he saw me reading a book and he say to me ” read story”…”read story” So I took out 1 of his book and started reading, though he is not really listening but at least he ask for a story and I think he is ready this time round.
I should credit this to his school though. Last week we paid $80 to his school to purchase books to start them on reading(for both english and mandarin). I thought $80 to buy additional books is kinda expensive but if they have a way to cultivate him into reading, then it is all worth it…:)
That’s fast isn’t it? It seem like just yesterday that I first carry her in my arms and now she is 3 months old. She has turned from a fragile little jelly to a stronger gal who can lift up her head.
Watching her grow for the past 3 months is one of the most memorable times in my life. And as now at 3 months, it would also means that I should get it all ready for work, YES… I am reporting for work the coming monday… Urghhh..:( To be exact, I should be starting work on 14 Jan but as hubby is going for his annual ICT from 8-18 Jan, I had requested my boss to allow me to swap my leave on week 11 to week 13. I was back at office on the new year week and gosh, I miss Suzanne!!!
Those few days at office, I learnt about a few new pregnancy cases and also some friends and even my cousin is pregnany! All of them are going to be due from Jun – Aug period… WOW, I miss being pregnant…haha crazy me!
Im so proud of myself that I am able to give Suzanne breastmilk till now, YES a good 3 months and I have also stored up to approx 2 months supply. I do not know how far can I go but as at now, I will give myself a 6 months time… After she turn 6 months, will see how it goes by then…:)
